FAQs

A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is a unique reference number issued by a UK educational institution. It confirms that you have been offered an unconditional place on a course and is required to apply for a Student visa.

You will receive your CAS after accepting your offer, meeting all conditions (academic and financial), and providing any required documents. Most universities issue CAS letters around 3 months before your course start date.

Your CAS is valid for 6 months from the date it is issued, but you must use it to apply for your Student visa within 6 months of issue and no more than 6 months before your course starts.

Your CAS is valid for 6 months from the date it is issued, but you must use it to apply for your Student visa within 6 months of issue and no more than 6 months before your course starts.

Only limited changes can be made. If there's a mistake (e.g. spelling of your name, course title, or fee information), you must contact the university immediately. Once a visa application is submitted using that CAS, it cannot be changed.

If your visa is refused, you may request a new CAS, but you'll usually need to provide a copy of the refusal notice and meet any additional requirements set by the university. The institution reserves the right to issue a new CAS based on the circumstances of the refusal.
